Does cleaning the key area stop the keys from sticking?
Action:
Identify which keys stick, carefully remove them and clean around the area.
1) Identify the keys on the keyboard that stick.
2) Turn the computer off.
3) Carefully pry the key(s) identified in step 1) off with a paper clip.
4) Do one of the following:
a) Dampen a cotton swab with warm water and wipe the debris away from the area surrounding the key(s).
WARNING: DO NOT use a dampened cotton swab on the keyboard while the computer is still on. b) If the keyboard is an older keyboard, look for springs that may be bent. If there are any springs that are bent, carefully straighten them out.
5) Carefully place the key cap back on the keyboard and gently push the key cap back on with your finger tip.
6) Turn on the computer.
7) Open up an application and test the key(s) that were sticking, by pressing them down a couple of times.
